In 1997, the employees of Capitol City Press came together with the blessing of the owner to buy the company. An Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) was established at that time, allowing the new employee-owners the opportunity to share in the financial success that they help create. Everyone who works at Capitol City Press has a vested interest in a very real and emotional way.
In this day and age of corporate buy-outs and printer consolidations, Capitol City Press is now one of the largest locally-owned printers in the Pacific Northwest. The company mission and attitude and the day-to-day operations are not dependent upon shareholders, a distant board, or a CEO who lives on the other side of the country. Important decisions can be made locally by someone in an office that has a view of the Olympic Mountains, the same view shared by many of our clients.
